June 11th, a work party was held at the Clinton Library to begin modification of the telescopes. The modifications were done in order to make the telescopes robust enough that they can be lent out to people with no prior experience using a telescope.
Steve Block designed and printed the decals. Marshall Singer took on the challenge of modifying the mirror cells and collimating the scopes. Jane Hurly helped unpacked and disassemble the scopes, then fetched pizza. Rocky Togni did the tedious job of re-configuring the battery packs. Bruce and Becky McMath helped out with miscellaneous reassembly and modification chores. Jim Dixon and Darrell Heath were a team reassembling and modifying the mounts and installing the decals.
